| OUR
VISION: Success in the Early Years: Building Blocks for the Future |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The
projects undertaken by Success By 6 Coalition of Douglas County represent the culmination of years of community-wide collaboration to increase resources and access to resources for parents of young children. We work together in four activity areas. 1. First, we increase the community's awareness of the importance of early childhood through literacy and social marketing campaigns. 2. Second, we provide in home family support and mental health services to families with young children. 3. Third, we increase the availability and quality of early learning opportu- nities for infants and toddlers, including childcare for families with children who have special needs. 4. Finally, we have recently begun collaborating with employers, the Chamber of Commerce, The Lawrence Workforce Center and Douglas County Senior Services to improve access to family resources with the goal of increasing workplace productivity, employee retention and reduce absenteeism. |
